Korean Barley Tea (Boricha) Recipe

Equipment

  • Medium-sized pot/Kettle
  • Tea Strainer

Ingredients
  

  • 4 tbsp Roasted Barley Grains
  • 2 liters of Water

Instructions
 

  • Take a kettle or a medium-sized pot, add the water, and let it boil.
  • Next, add the roasted barley and then allow it to boil for 5 more minutes on low to medium heat.
  • Remove the pot/kettle from the heat and strain the roasted barley using a tea strainer. Let the tea cool down and then you can transfer it into a jug.
  • And it's ready to be served!

Notes

  • You can also store the Korean barley tea in your refrigerator until needed. 
  • You can also purchase roasted barley tea bags that are easily available in the market. 
  • If you are not able to find roasted barley, then you can make your own. Just take a sauté pan and toast barley over medium heat for 5 to 10 minutes, or cook it until the grains turn into a dark brown color.
