Equipment

  • Medium-Sized Pan
  • Deep Skillet

Ingredients

  • 200 ML Ghee
  • 10 - 12 Pieces Of Almonds
  • 10 - 12 Pieces Of Cashew
  • 100 Grams Semolina Suji
  • 100 Grams Sugar
  • 400 Grams Of Orange Pulp
  • 3 - 4 tbsp Saffron Milk
  • 2 tsp Cardamom Powder
  • Orange Juice As Per Your taste
  • 8 - 10 Pieces Of Pistachio

Instructions

For Making The Orange Pulp

  • Start with peeling the oranges and then removing the seeds properly.
  • After that chop the orange segments into smaller bits and add them into a blender.
  • Blend it properly to get that pulpy consistency. You can also add a little water to help them blend properly. Remember not to add excess water as it will become juicy.

For Making The Orange Halwa

  • First, take a medium-sized pan and heat it. Then add ghee followed by almonds and cashews. Cook for 30 to 40 seconds.
  • Next, add suji and store well. Allow the suji to get cooked and have that crunchy type of texture.
  • Now add cardamom powder followed by saffron milk into the pan. Combine everything properly and turn off the heat.
  • Take another deep skillet and heat it. Add orange pulp and stir well.
  • Add the sugar and mix well. Cook properly to let the sugar melt and let the mixture come to a boil.
  • Next, add the orange pulp mixture to the suji and combine well.
  • Continuously cook the orange halwa on medium to high flame to enable the water to evaporate entirely.
  • Your orange halwa is prepared. To garnish, just add some orange juice & chopped dry fruits on top of it and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can also use brown sugar instead of using white sugar for a healthier option.
  • Adjust the proportion of orange pulp to balance the sweetness according to your preference.
  • In some cases, suji tends to absorb more water. So, you will have to add water to the halwa as per the softness you want.
  • Also, you can store the orange pulp for about 1 or 2 days.
