Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Tea Strainer

Ingredients

  • 4 Cups Of Full-Fat Milk
  • 2 tbsp Of Dried Or Fresh Lavender Buds
  • 2.5 tbsp Of Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Of Earl Grey Tea
  • 4 Fresh Lavender Sprigs For Garnishing Each Cup

Instructions

  • Heat the saucepan and add the milk. Allow it to simmer over low heat.
  • When the milk simmers, add the dried lavender buds and give it a nice stir. Cover the pan with the lid and turn off the heat. Let the lavender steep for 10 minutes.
  • Turn on the heat, mix well, and then add the sugar slowly while stirring.
  • Next, add the Earl Grey tea to the lavender-infused milk, stir it once, and let it steep for at least 5 minutes.
  • Using a tea strainer, strain in the lavender milk tea into tea cups to filter out the tea and lavender buds.
  • Garnish the tea with fresh lavender sprigs or foamed milk.

For Making Iced Version

  • Let the tea cool down completely and then refrigerate it for 1 to 2 hours.
  • In the serving glasses, add a few ice cubes and pour the tea over them. Top it up with some milk foam, or you can even add fresh whipped cream for that extra creaminess.
  • Your iced lavender milk tea is ready to be served!

Notes

  • When making lavender milk tea, always utilize creamy milk. Whether it is plant-based, dairy, or non-dairy milk, select the one that has more of a fat content for a creamy, smooth & rich lavender tea.
  • You can use any preferred type of milk, such as coconut milk, soy milk, oats milk, almond milk, regular milk, etc.
  • You can use any sweetener of your choice, such as maple syrup, light agave nectar, brown sugar, coconut sugar, or honey. Make sure to sweeten the tea while it is hot so that the sweetener dissolves well.
  • You can swap the Earl Grey tea with any other tea of your choice, like black tea, green tea, white tea, or herbal tea.
  • Add vanilla extract to the tea for that subtle hint of essence!
  • To get a stronger flavour, let the tea steep for 1 or 2 minutes more.
  • For garnishing, you can use both, closed lavender buds or fresh lavender flowers. You can even top it up with milk foam or whipped cream.
