Take a small saucepan and add water. Bring it to a boil over medium heat, and then add the Assam tea leaves. Brew the tea according to your liking, and using a tea strainer, strain out the tea leaves.
Once it is done, turn off the heat and add the condensed milk or any sweetener of your choice. Mix it well.
In the tea cups or mug, add half of the brewed-sweetened tea and the milk. Give it a nice stir. Make sure to warm up the milk before adding it to the tea cups.
And your Assam milk tea is ready to be served!
- Brew the tea according to your liking. The longer you’ll brew the tea, the stronger the flavour will be! However, I would suggest you brew it for a good 4 to 5 minutes.
- I have used condensed milk as a sweetener here, but you can choose any sweetener of your choice, like white sugar, brown sugar, monk fruit sugar, maple syrup, etc.
- You can add ¼ tsp of vanilla to your Assam milk tea for additional flavour.
- Assam black tea is considered to be a good base for making chai tea. Therefore, adding warm spices like nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves or coriander can enhance its flavour and taste extraordinary.
- If you want to make Assam Bubble tea, then just add the quick-cooking boba pearls (tapioca pearls) to the Assam milk tea.
