CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), in collaboration with McDonald’s, has launched Protein PLUS slice across 440 McDonald’s outlets in South and West India. Each slice contains 5 grams of protein, which can be added to any burger as per the customer’s choice for delicious taste and greater nutrition.
- Made of pea protein and soy protein, containing gluten and refined soy oil too, the Protein PLUS Slice is 100%vegetarian.
- No use of garlic, onion, or root vegetables in its making.
- Contains no artificial colours, artificial flavours, or preservatives, but rather uses annatto food colouring and vinegar.
- The delicious flavour of the Protein PLUS slice comes from its cheese base note and buttery top note.
As per the nutritional info of a particular McDonald’s menu item (available on all their Apps, in-store, and on the website), Paneer Burger contains 20.29 grams of protein per serving. Protein PLUS enables food lovers to add more protein and make it 25.29 grams of protein per serving.
At McDonald’s India, we believe in giving our customers choices, and this time, we are enabling them to customize their protein intake. The Protein PLUS range allows them to enjoy their favourite McDonald’s burgers without compromising on their protein needs or taste. It reflects our ongoing commitment to our Real Food, Real Good philosophy, bringing together flavour, nutrition, and food science. We are grateful to CSIR-CFTRI for partnering with us to bring this forward-thinking product to life.
